About the Victory and the Gizil Shah Culinary Championship
The Gazelli Café team, led by chief Chef Timur Pivkin, took part in the Gizil Shah culinary championship. Gizil Shah is the first-ever national culinary championship held for professional chef teams to participate. First held in 2019, the Culinary Championship was suspended during the pandemic. The championship is held at the Expo Center with guest foreign experts from different countries as judges. They include heads of various European culinary associations, Michelin-starred chefs, and organizers of international competitions. The organizers say the Cup's name, Gizil Shah, was designed in honor of the great Azerbaijani chef Shahgusein Kerimov.

During the championship, the Gazelli Café's team won three gold and four silver medals in several categories, including awards for the best fish dishes, best restaurant dessert, and best meal of the restaurant. "This victory comes from hard work and infinite love for everything we do. As we grow and continue to develop, this provides us with yet another confirmation that we are moving in the right direction. It cannot but make us happy that over the years of activity, our team has participated and won in various competitions and projects. While preparing for the Gizil Shah Culinary Championship, we developed new recipes to test and try out different ingredients. Azerbaijan's top restaurants and hotels took part in the championship this year. The sense of pride for our teamwork and victory is wonderful!" said Timur Pivkin, chief Chef of Gazelli Café.
